Python 2.7.2 was released on June 11th, 2011.
Apps for Developer Tools. With developer tools, you can design and build apps, communicate with a team, and manage a project. We have tips on the best tools to make a development project go smoothly. (1, 2) There is important information about IDLE, Tkinter, and Tcl/Tk on Mac OS X here. Also, on Mac OS X 10.6, if you need to build C extension modules with the 32-bit-only Python installed, you will need Apple Xcode 3, not 4. The 64-bit/32-bit Python can use either Xcode 3 or Xcode 4.
The Python 2.7 series is scheduled to be the last major version in the 2.xseries before 2.x moves into an extended maintenance period. The 2.7 seriescontains many of the features that were first released in Python 3.1.Improvements in this release include:
- Xcode 4.3, released on February 16, 2012, is distributed as one application bundle, Xcode.app, installed from the Mac App Store. Xcode 4.3 reorganizes the Xcode menu to include development tools. Xcode 4.3.1 was released on March 7, 2012 to add support for iOS 5.1.

The source tarballs are signed with Benjamin Peterson's key (fingerprint: 12EF3DC3 8047 DA38 2D18 A5B9 99CD EA9D A413 5B38). The Windows installer was signedby Martin von Löwis' public key, which has a key id of 7D9DC8D2. Audio Synchronization Tools
You can download the installer for the aeneas audio-text synchronization tools here. Choose the download according to your operating system (Windows or Mac). For Linux, the aeneas install is part of the Scripture App Builder package and you do not need to install it separately.

If you have previously installed each of the aeneas components using the manual method, we recommend that you uninstall each of these before installing the new version. The new installer installs the components to different places and in a different way from the manual method.
Necessary Development Kits
In addition to the Scripture App Builder (SAB) installation file you will need to download and install the Java and Android development kits. These are used by Scripture App Builder to compile Android apps. The Installation Instructions include step by step help for installing these development kits. If this is your first time installing SAB it is strongly recommended that you follow those instructions which include screenshots so you know exactly what to download.
Java Development Kit – You need version 8 of the Java Development Kit (JDK). We recommend that you use Azul Zulu OpenJDK which is a free distribution of the Open Java Development Kit.
Android Software Development Kit – Get just the command line tools (at the bottom of the page, under the title ‘Command line tools only’) rather than the full Android Studio.
